Setup checklist

Before you take a trade, run through this list:

Entry rules

Long entry:

1. Confirm price holds above the EMA100. This strategy only buys dips inside an up-move.
2. Wait for RSI (7) to dip below 25.
3. The trigger is RSI crossing back up through 25. Let that bar close.
4. Enter at the open of the next bar. The indicator prints a spring-green arrow under the trigger bar.

Short entry: mirror the long rules. Price holds below the EMA100, RSI (7) spikes above 75 and crosses back down. The indicator prints a hot-pink arrow above the bar.

Exit rules

• First target. The most recent minor high, or one times the stop distance — whichever comes first. Scalps are paid quickly or not at all.
• Stop loss. Place the stop below the trigger bar’s low. On XAUUSD M15 that usually lands $1.50–$3.50 out.
• Time stop. Exit after 6 closed bars if the target has not been hit. A scalp that stalls is a scalp that failed.

Filters that improve the setup

• The EMA100 filter is on by default. Counter-trend RSI scalps lose their edge fast.
• The indicator waits at least 2 bars between same-side signals.
• Trade the London–NY overlap, when spreads are tight and flow is two-sided.
• Stand aside for 15 minutes around red-folder releases. Spreads widen exactly when RSI extremes print.

• Price pulls back while holding above the EMA100. RSI (7) dips under 25 and hooks back up.
• The trigger bar closes, the indicator prints a spring-green arrow, and you enter at the next open.
• The stop sits below the trigger bar’s low — on XAUUSD M15, typically $1.50–$3.50 from entry.
• The target is the last minor high. Take the exit when it tags; do not let a scalp become a swing.

• Track every trade in a journal, including the screenshot, your reasoning, and the outcome.

• Take a break after three consecutive losses. Decision quality drops with consecutive losses; rules should hold up to that.
