Dominic Walsh, the Forex trader and MT4 and MT5 indicator developer behind forexmt4systems

About forexmt4systems

forexmt4systems.com exists to do one thing well: give traders clean, honest MetaTrader tools at no cost. Indeed, every indicator here is something I have built, configured, or reviewed myself. Each one ships for MT4 and MT5 with a short guide. Still, the guide explains what the indicator plots, how to read its signals, and which timeframes and instruments suit it best. Above all, the aim is clear tools and straight talk — no hype, no black boxes.

Who I am

My name is Dominic Walsh. Thus, over the years I have studied price action, market structure, and the behaviour of technical indicators across the major and minor currency pairs. What started as a personal interest in reading charts grew into a disciplined practice built around risk control, a repeatable process, and constant testing. Hence, today I specialise in technical analysis and in turning trading ideas into custom indicators that other traders can load and study for themselves.

I also publish my work publicly, so you can see it beyond this site. Next, you will find my scripts on TradingView and my products on MQL5. For neutral background on the methods behind the tools, Investopedia’s primer on technical analysis is a solid starting point.

What this site offers

The heart of the site is the free indicator library. Therefore, the best place to start is the full collection of free MT4 and MT5 indicators. Each tool has its own guide and one-step download. For example, popular picks include the ADX Indicator, the Adaptive RSI Indicator, and the Alligator Indicator. New to MetaTrader? Then read the step-by-step guide to installing MT4 and MT5 indicators first.

What I focus on

  • Technical analysis — trend, momentum, volatility, and market-structure tools for the Forex and CFD markets.
  • Indicator development — custom MQL4 and MQL5 indicators built to render cleanly and signal clearly on the chart.
  • Education — straightforward write-ups that help beginner and intermediate traders understand the tools they use.

How I work

I believe trading tools should be transparent. Then, each indicator page describes the logic behind the tool, its inputs, and its limitations. You can then decide whether it fits your own strategy rather than treating it as a black box. Yet, I test every indicator on live charts before publishing it and rebuild anything that does not render the way it should. The goal is simple: clear tools, honest documentation, and no hype.

Stay in touch

I share new releases, chart breakdowns, and trading ideas across social media. Truly, you can also reach me directly through the contact page if you have a question about any tool on the site.

Risk disclaimer

Finally, a note on risk. Plainly, the indicators and information on this website are provided for educational and informational purposes only and do not constitute financial advice. Trading the Forex and CFD markets carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for every investor. Results are not guaranteed, and past performance is not indicative of future results. You can read the full forex trading disclaimer and our privacy policy for more detail.

How every indicator on this site is built and tested

I write each tool from scratch in MQL4 and MQL5. Then I load it on live EURUSD, GBPUSD and XAUUSD charts and check it bar by bar before release. The standard is consistent. Also, lines must draw cleanly from the first valid bar. Signals must lock in on the close rather than repaint. Indeed, the indicator must also behave the same way in the Strategy Tester as on a live chart. If a tool does not render correctly or its logic is not genuinely distinct, it does not ship.

I supply downloads as ready-to-use compiled MT4 (.ex4) and MT5 (.ex5) files. Still, you can drop them straight into your terminal. Every release carries the same alert framework — pop-up, sound, email and mobile push — that you can toggle independently from the indicator inputs.
