Most arrow tools mark the candles. The cci with arrow indicator marks the curve instead: each arrow sits fifteen points from the reading itself, inside the pane, so you see exactly which part of the line triggered it. Four inputs govern everything it does.
This build ships as a compiled .ex4 for MT4 and .ex5 for MT5; the screenshots below come from EURUSD H1.

What the file declares
One curve and two marks, all in the pane.
`CCI` traces dodger blue at width 2.
`CCI Up Arrow` prints lime at width 3.
`CCI Down Arrow` prints red at the same width.
Marks sit fifteen points from the curve.
Reference lines sit at 100, zero and minus 100.
- CCI: line, dodger blue, width 2
- CCI Up Arrow: arrow, lime, width 3, arrow code 233
- CCI Down Arrow: arrow, red, width 3, arrow code 234

How the CCI with Arrow Indicator does its maths
The reading
`CciPeriod` `14` measures how far the typical price sits from its own average, scaled by the mean deviation across the same window.
The two thresholds
`UpLevel` `100.0` and `DnLevel` `-100.0` are the boundaries. Lambert designed the scale so roughly three quarters of readings fall between them, which makes each end genuinely unusual.
Where the marks go
A crossing of either threshold earns one. The code sets each arrow against the curve rather than against price, which keeps the trigger point visible inside the pane.
How to read what it shows
Arrows sit beside the curve, not on the candles.
Crossing upward through the upper level earns lime.
Crossing downward through the lower one earns red.
The scale runs open at both ends.
Four inputs is the whole panel.
Warm-up needs sixteen closed bars.
Alert channels in this build: popup, one message per closed bar.
This build keeps it simple: `AlertOnCross` `true` raises a terminal message when the reading crosses a threshold on a closed bar. The terminal is the only destination here, with no handset, mail or audio route in the panel at all.

Where this one belongs
Fourteen bars reaches its levels often enough on any liquid chart. EURUSD H1 is the reference chart and gives a few crossings a day. On M5 the curve pins to one end for long stretches. On H4 each level visit means considerably more.
What it will not tell you
A reading past a level can stay there for many bars.
The scale has no upper or lower bound.
Marks in the pane cannot show the price they relate to.
One threshold crossing is the whole signal.

FAQ
Why are the arrows drawn beside the CCI curve?
So the trigger stays visible. Placing a mark fifteen points from the reading itself shows exactly which part of the line crossed the threshold, which a mark on the candles above could never tell you.
What makes UpLevel 100.0 the conventional threshold?
Lambert scaled the calculation so that roughly three quarters of readings land between plus and minus one hundred. Anything outside that range is therefore unusual by construction rather than by opinion.
Does the CCI plot have a maximum value?
No. Unlike a zero-to-hundred oscillator this scale runs open at both ends, so a strong move can carry it past two hundred. That is why the thresholds work as crossings rather than as ceilings.
Which prices go into the CciPeriod 14 window?
The typical price of each bar, meaning the average of its high, low and close. Using all three keeps a long wick in the calculation instead of discarding it the way a close-only reading would.
Are results guaranteed?
No. Trading involves risk. Results are not guaranteed; past performance is not indicative of future results. Use the CCI with Arrow Indicator as one input. Always backtest before trading live.
